Tom Felton: ‘Harry Potter sparked Twilight, Hunger Games success’ |
|
“At the forefront of it all is Jo Rowling. When I was 9 or 10 years old it wasn’t the thing to be seen doing – reading a book in your spare time,” Felton told Digital Spy.
“You were playing football. You were doing something like that. She single-handedly turned that round, and in three years if you hadn’t read the Harry Potter books you were the uncool guy.”
He added: “Obviously at the end of the seven books, these guys have a huge passion for literature and escapism.
“Twilight and The Hunger Games books will suffice and certainly take them to a whole new world. It’s great, because it just furthers people’s imagination and keeps people creative.”
